When do you need an ECU cloning?

There are many reasons to clone an engine control unit. If your ECU is faulty but still have some communication wether its via the OBD port or on the bench, now is the time to investigate whether its possible to clone your ECU. Once it looses communication completely it becomes much more time consuming and complicated. Sometimes once it has reached this stage it can not be cloned at all.

Your Engine Control Unit (ECU) can become faulty for many reasons such as; water ingress, age deterioration, driver failure, component damage, dry solder joints and many more reasons. These are just a few examples of possible faults your ECU may experience.
